Five-star service available at Jobfind Centres! 3 May 2004- leading Job Network provider Jobfind Centres was awarded a five-star rating by the Australian Government’s Job Network Star Ratings in an announcement made by employment services Minister Mal Brough last Friday. Jobfind Centres is one of only 15 Job Network members nationally to receive a coveted five-star rating in one or more of its employment services areas, placing Jobfind in the top five per cent of Job Network members in the country. Jobfind Centres Busselton and Bunbury in West Australia were awarded the prestigious five-star rating while Centres across Tasmania and the Northern Territory were awarded an impressive 4.5 star rating each. Other Jobfind locations across Australia also scored well with an above average rating of 3.5 stars given to five Centres in Sydney and one in Townsville. “Our success is an excellent starting point from which we can improve on the quality of our services across the entire network of Jobfind Centres. These ratings provide a great incentive for our staff members to further improve on their performance, which ultimately makes job seekers the winners,” says Mr Kittos. The Star Ratings from the Job Network are based on the individual performances of Job Network members during the period of 1 July 2003 to 31 March 2004. The most important criterion for gaining a high star rating is based on the number of job seekers placed into jobs. Since 1998, Jobfind Centres has managed to place over 45,000 job seekers into employment by providing resume and interview help, job search training and customised assistance programs that give job seekers access to vocational education and wage subsidy. “Jobfind has been hugely successful in helping mature-age job seekers and the long-term unemployed get back into the workforce. For example, our Turning Point program run by Jobfind Townsville for over 45s has been embraced by the local business community. “Our specially tailored program focusing on enterprise development and job creation has also given Indigenous communities in remote areas of the Northern Territory a much needed boost in employment opportunities with some very impressive outcomes”, says Mr Kittos. “In fact, just last year, Jobfind Centres assisted 23 indigenous locals on Palm Island successfully complete job training qualifications and gain full or part-time employment within months as part of the $7.5 million contract for capital works and commercial development with the Australian Army”, said Mr Kittos. The Federal Government’s Job Network provides flexible and innovative support to ensure job seekers have the necessary skills to meet business needs. The Job Network as a whole has placed nearly twice as many job seekers in long-term jobs than at the same time last year.
