News Jobfind Centres Australia recognised for outstanding service Sydney, 6 August 2004 – The Federal Government's Job Network annual Star Ratings saw Jobfind Centres Australia perform exceptionally well this year, scoring an overall average of four stars across 15 national Centres. The Star Ratings, which measure individual performances of Job Network providers across the country, were announced last week by the Minister for Employment Services, Ms Fran Bailey. Three Jobfind Centres across the country were awarded the maximum five-star rating, placing them in the top five per cent of Job Network providers in Australia. Another six Centres were awarded four or four-and-a-half star ratings, placing over half of Jobfind Centres in Australia well above average. The criteria for gaining a high star rating is based on the number of job seekers placed into jobs and their success in maintaining a long-term position during the period. The star ratings were based on the performance of providers in the period between 1July 2003 and 30 June 2004 . Since 1998, Jobfind Centres has managed to place over 50,000 job seekers into employment by providing resume and interview help, job search training and customised assistance programs. According to Jobfind Centres' chief executive officer, Mr Con J. Kittos, Jobfind's innovative initiatives such as the Employer Assistance Program (EAP) and recent e-Learning project, LearnNow, has contributed immensely to Jobfind Centres' national success. “Jobfind's initiatives have helped the business and local community work together so that the right people can be placed in jobs quickly and efficiently. Our e-Learning courses have also helped many job seekers re-skill in areas like customer service and computer literacy – essential in today's workforce”, says Mr Kittos. “In Sydney, our Centres in Maroubra and Bondi each scored a very high four stars each for their performances. Other Centres in Sydney, Parramatta and Merrylands also put in a consistent performance, with each awarded three or three-and-a-half stars each”, says Mr Kittos. The Job Network as a whole has placed nearly twice as many job seekers in long-term jobs than at the same time last year. According to the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), more than 500,000 job seekers have been assisted into jobs through over the past twelve months.
